Westwood is recognized for the quality of its schools. Students consistently score in the top percentiles on national tests and the overwhelming majority of students graduating from high school go on to higher education. Westwood is consistently ranked among the top 10% in the state for its superb public school system. Westwood has five public elementary schools (K-5), one public middle school (6-8) and one public high school (9-12), which was recently constructed at a cost of $45 Million.

Westwood is also home to Xaverian Brothers High School, a private catholic high school for boys; Ursuline Academy, a private school for girls, is located in neighboring Dedham, MA.
